We love honey and we've been looking for a great honey from abroad for a while now. We finally got our hands on some and it doesn't disappoint. SerraMel dates back to its origins just outside of Lisbon in the late 1890's. Now its a thriving producer of some of Portugals best honeys. All produced from their 52,000 acre preserve in the Serra Da Malcata. Every area of the property produces a specific style honey. We are a huge fan of oak and quite frankly I’ve never seen an oak specific honey before so it was a must. This honey is only produced two months out of the year when the acorn flowers are in bloom. The resulting honey is a dark, rich, malty, creamy honey that is slightly less sweet that regular honey. It is a truly unique must try product from around the world.
