About Fangst

In their native Danish, Fangst means “catch” and guides their mission is to revive the lost culinary traditions of the Scandinavia while embracing a modern sensibility with sustainable techniques.

Their tins embrace the bounty of land and sea found in Scandinavia use herbs and flowers such as; Heather, Dill Seed, fennel seed, and Chamomile. All ensconced in cold-pressed rape seed oil with a golden color and flavor that is unique in it’s own right.

Every tin is distinctly Nordic presentation of a Southern European tradition.

Limfjord Blue Mussels- In the cold water of the Danish inlet Limfjorden, ‘blåmuslinger’ (blue mussels) grow slow to acquire a particularly fine taste and texture. Most of them are then shipped off to foreign kitchens but some we keep for ourselves. With a marinade of cold pressed rapeseed oil, apple vinegar, dill and fennel seeds, FANGST brings you our version of the blue mussel.

Faroe Island Salmon- Its remote location in the North Atlantic, clear waters, cool steady temperatures, strong currents and protected fjords make the Faroe Islands the perfect place for salmon.  This FANGST salmon has been flash grilled and preserved in cold pressed rapeseed oil.

Brisling N.1 Sea Sprat- ’Brisling’ is a small fish that traditionally was landed in great numbers along the Scandinavian and Baltic coastlines. Here it was prepared by hand, lightly smoked and preserved with chamomile and heather in cans to be sold as a Nordic version of sardine.

Brisling N.2 Sea Sprat- ’Brisling’ is a small fish that traditionally was landed in great numbers along the Scandinavian and Baltic coastlines. Here it was prepared by hand, lightly smoked and preserved in cans to be sold as a Nordic version of sardine.
